#39: 26 Books

#39: Read 26 books I’ve never heard of starting with each letter of the Alphabet

I love to read and have a huge list of books that I want to read. I also love libraries and choosing random books off the shelves. I try to study at the library a lot, but usually end up getting distracted by the books. It seems that I am always finding a new book that I want to read. I liked the idea of reading a new book for every letter of the alphabet because it will allow me to pick random books from the library shelves. I'll also keep crossing some books of my already lengthy to-read list, but this way I'll be crossing something off a list by reading new books I find too! :)

U - Under the Mesquite By Guadalupe Garcia McCall
This is a really neat young adult book! I loved that this book was written in poetic verse, but told the continuous story of Lupita, a Mexican American girl, as she went through all four years of high school. I actually came across this book during a group project for my master's program. We used it as a potential small group topic for a case study we worked on throughout the semester. Under the Mesquite is a very heartfelt and inspiring book and I would highly recommend it!
